An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, Lagos on Thursday arraigned a 45-year-old worker, Jamiu Abioro for allegedly stealing his employer’s equipment worth N40 million.
The accused who resides at Alagbado, a Lagos suburb, is being tried for conspiracy and stealing.
It is alleged that the accused and others still at large conspired to steal equipment valued at N40 million being property of Dudu Production Company.
According to the prosecutor, Insp. Ezekiel Ayorinde, the offences were committed on Sept. 15 at Omole area of Ojodu, Lagos.
“The accused stole eight tripod stands, eight spiced leg dolly, track, four channel vision mixer, crane control head, crane pole, kino flo light and DVD/VCR recorder, all valued at N40 million.
“The keys of the office where the equipment were kept were in the custody of the accused.”he told the court.
The offences contravened Sections 287 (7) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the offences and was granted bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
The Magistrate, Mrs J.O. Awope adjourned the case to Oct. 16 for mention.
