Mohammed Bashir, a suspected member of the dreaded Boko Haram sect, has been arrested by men of the Ondo State police command.
Bashir, whose father reportedly hails from Niger Republic and mother from Borno State, was nabbed on Sunday while loitering on Isua/Ifira-Akoko Road in Akoko South-East Local Government Area of the state.
Some items suspected to be charms were said to have been found on the suspect after his arrest by men of the police anti-crime patrol in the area.
Femi Joseph, Public Relations Officer of the command, said Bashir was still in the protective custody of the command for further enquiry.
“The suspect was arrested by men of the anti-crime patrol of the command in Isua-Akoko. He was found loitering on Isua/Ifira Akoko Road.
“When interrogated, he confessed that he was a member of the Boko Haram sect. He said his father is from Niger Republic while his mother is from Maiduguri in Borno State.
